Agenda Cambridge 2019

Meeting room The course will take place at the DAMTP MR20 Pavilion E

Before the meeting

Don't worry if you can't do this - I understand it is late.

Set up Cloudy. It would be best to bring a laptop that can compute Cloudy models and connect to the wifi network. You should be familiar enough with your computer's terminal application to run scripts and also be able to make plots of results. Instructions for installing the current version of Cloudy are on the homework page. Jeremy Sanders' Veusz plotting program is very Cloudy friendly and highly recommended.

Example files used in class are on this web share. The subdirectories include PDFs of what we discuss in class, chapters of the AGN3 text, the Cloudy documentation, some review articles, and the simulations we will do in class.

Homework. Considering running the M16 and making the plots described on that page. We will discuss this model first. Two other models we will discuss are posted there.
